Swipe to the Monthly Budget tab and it shows as a dashboard: a card per category, a progress bar, what you've spent and what's left — with a clear “Over by” when you've gone past it.
The dashboard isn't a black box. It reads the Monthly Budget tab of your Google Sheet, where each row is a plain formula you can open and check.
The amount you set for the category, once. Change it any time.
Every Expenses row with this category, dated this month, added up.
Positive: what's left. Negative: shown as “Over by”.
The Total row works the same way at the top level: this month's income from the Income sheet, minus everything spent this month.
A small Settings tab works out today's year and month, and the first day of this month and the next. Every budget formula points at those two dates, so on the 1st the dashboard rolls over to the new month — no ranges to edit, no copying the sheet.
Last month's expenses stay in your Expenses sheet, untouched, for whenever you want to look back.
